SureStay Plus is one of the 13 brands of the Best Western portfolio, and this hotel is the only SureStay property in Osaka and also the first in Japan. Located north of central Osaka across the Yodo River, it is 15 minutes away by foot from the Shin-Osaka station, which connects to the JR Kyoto Line and Tokaido Shinkansen. The nearest metro stations are about 600 metres south, which are Minamikata (Hankyu-Kyoto line) and Nishinakajima-Minamigata (M14 on the red Midosuji metro line).
The midscale hotel features 108 guestrooms across 9 floors, all of which are equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi. Best Western Rewards elite members are welcomed with a choice of either 500 points or a welcome amenity; breakfast at Restaurant Fino on the second floor, however, is not included. Vending machines can be found on the lobby floor, which was a distinctive and practical feature at hotels in Japan.

Checking into the hotel as fine as the reception staff spoke some English, and they were armed with printed instructions and information that were on hand as communication aids. On this occasion I stayed at a twin room on the top floor, which was small but functional. The windows are conservatively sized, but was helpful in brightening up the room interior, as was the TV.

Self-service laundry rooms can be found on the 4th and 7th floors. A fitness centre is available on the 3rd floor, although the facilities were rather limited.

The hotel provides a simple and fairly comfortable stay, and is located reasonably close to Shin-Osaka which may be helpful for business travellers as well as leisure travellers seeking day trips to nearby cities. Its reasonable room rates are a plus point (may vary), and while elite recognition for the Best Western Rewards loyalty program is not extravagant, it may be a potentially lucrative option for accumulating a couple of stays at a reasonable price as part of an ongoing loyalty promotion.
