Photos: ANA Lounge Tokyo Narita Airport

The ANA Lounge is at level 4 of Terminal 1 within Tokyo Narita International (NRT). It is available for passengers in premium cabins on ANA and Star Alliance-operated flights, selected ANA and Star Alliance frequent flyer members, and partner network members such as Priority Pass users. Note that this is not the ANA Suite Lounge for first-class passengers.

I was flying from Houston on United Airlines and connecting to Singapore on ANA, so I visited the lounge with about three hours to spare at Narita Airport.

Seating

Being a fairly large lounge, seats were plenty and they are spread across the front and rear sections. The front section has higher traffic and features a nice row of seats facing the runway. The rear section was quieter and more sparse when I arrived, which can be seen from the following photos, but by the time I left in the late afternoon it had become crowded with passengers from connecting flights. Charging ports were widely available although I felt the Wi-Fi did not seem to be very consistent.

Dining

Options consist of a buffet counter, a noodle bar, and a beverage section.

The buffet counter has hot dishes available: the ANA Original Chicken Curry, penne pasta with bolognese, deep-fried chicken and french fries, roasted brussels sprouts and potato. A breakfast menu is available during breakfast hours. Additionally, Japanese rice balls (the flavours vary by month; it was kombu kelp and salmon in July 2022), salad, sandwiches and pastries were also available.

As for beverages, apart from the usual, there was a selection of Japanese wines and liquors and also an Asahi beer dispensing machine.

Amenities

Toilets here, as you may expect in Japan, come with heated seats and a bidet. They are located between the front and rear sections of the lounge. Showers, on the other hand, are located past the reception desk at the lounge entrance. During peak hours it's best to join the queue early—a buzzer will be issued to inform when it is your turn—as I waited for close to an hour for a spot.

Fresh towels and toothbrush are provided in the basket, while bath amenities are available in bulk-sized containers. There is a clock in the shower room which was quite thoughful.

A massage room and smoking room are also available in the lounge.

Overall the ANA Lounge is excellent, with many seating options and great food options. It was nice to be able to spot ANA planes (lots of Dreamliners on the tarmac) from the lounge which is bonus for any aviation lover.
